息子がこの世に産まれてくれました。生まれた直後、ある事に気がつきました。目薬のようなものを一滴だけ目に注がれ、元気よく鳴いていましたが、涙が出ていないのです。

また、新生児でまだ笑うはずのない息子は一瞬、微笑むような表情を見せてくれました。 そうしたことにまだ医学的根拠はないそうです。

 

人間は産まれた瞬間から、絶対に避けられない死に向かっています。でもそれは決して暗いことではありません。教えてもいないのに乳を欲しがることも体を動かす動作や、泣き声すらも命のもっとも原始的な行為のように思います。その生きようとする力強さ、神秘性を僕はうつくしいと感じて作品にしようと思いました。

 

My son was born into this world.Straight after he was born, I noticed something.A single drop of eyewash was dripped into his eye, at which he cried heartily,yet he shed no tears.And, although it is not supposed to be possible in a newborn,for a fleeting second my son showed me something like a smile.Apparently, there is still no known medical explanation for this.From the moment of birth, humans head toward a certain death.However, this is not something morbid.That yearning for milk is not a thing taught.The movement of the body, even the crying voice;I think of as the most primitive fundaments of life.I feel beauty in the strength and mysticism inherent in anything trying to live,and try to capture it in my work.
